Custom Orthotics in Riverside South

Personalized Foot Support Designed Around You

Your feet influence how the rest of your body moves. When your foot mechanics aren’t functioning as they should, you may notice discomfort not only in your feet, but also in your knees, hips, and lower back. Custom orthotics from Ottawa Family Chiropractic are designed to promote comfortable movement and provide personalized support throughout your daily activities.

Whether you’re on your feet all day at work, enjoy running or fitness activities, or are experiencing foot-related discomfort, these custom insoles may be a valuable addition to your overall care plan.

Advanced Technology for a Precise Fit

Creating custom orthotics begins with a thorough assessment. Dr. Hester Potts starts by reviewing your health history and discussing your concerns, activity level, and footwear habits.

Next, you’ll walk across a computerized Footmaxx pressure plate that measures how your feet interact with the ground during movement. This technology provides detailed information about pressure distribution and walking patterns that can’t be seen through observation alone.

A 3D digital scan is then used to capture the exact shape and contours of your feet. This information is sent to the Footmaxx laboratory, where your appliances are crafted specifically for your unique biomechanics. Most are ready within two to three weeks.

More Than an Off-the-Shelf Insert

Unlike generic shoe inserts, custom orthotics are tailored to your individual foot structure and movement patterns. They may be designed for a variety of footwear styles, including athletic, everyday, dress, and cycling shoes.

Many people seek them for concerns such as plantar fasciitis, bunions, foot discomfort, or recurring strain through the knees, hips, and lower back. Others choose orthotics to help them stay active and comfortable throughout their day.

Continued Care After Your Fitting

Receiving your insoles is only part of the process. Dr. Potts provides guidance on gradually adapting to your new orthotics and caring for them properly. Each pair includes three months of modification coverage, allowing adjustments if needed as you become accustomed to wearing them.
